Overview

Vaultwarden is a self-hosted password manager, compatible with every official Bitwarden client. Passwords, payment cards, identities, secure notes: everything is encrypted client-side before leaving your device. Nobody can read them, not even us.

The advantage over Bitwarden cloud: your data never leaves your seedbox. No risk of a third-party breach exposing your vault. No subscription, no user cap if you want to share with your family or your team.

The browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge), mobile app (iOS, Android) and desktop client all connect to your instance via vaultwarden.seedbox.fr. Instant sync, autofill, strong password generation, built-in TOTP support.

AES-256 + PBKDF2-SHA256, the industry standard. Your data is encrypted on your device before reaching the seedbox. Without your master password, nobody can read it. Not even a curious admin.

Is it secure to self-host your passwords? expand_more
More secure than handing them to a third-party service. Everything is encrypted client-side: even if someone stole your database file, they could do nothing without your master password. And since your seedbox isn't a mass-market target like LastPass, you avoid large-scale attacks.
What happens if I forget my master password? expand_more
Nobody, not even us, can recover it. That's the flip side of end-to-end encryption. Vaultwarden offers password hints and the ability to regularly export your encrypted vault. Note your master password somewhere safe the first time, it's the key to everything.
Can I import my current vault? expand_more
Yes. Vaultwarden imports native exports from LastPass, 1Password, Dashlane, KeePass, Chrome, Firefox, and many more. Import happens in a few clicks from the web interface. Your old passwords arrive organized into folders, ready to use.
